Many beginners who are new to car GPS locators are completely clueless about GPS installation, resulting in disorderly installation, incomplete product functionality, or positioning accuracy not as described by the manufacturer, which affects the wiring problem. What should I do if I don't know how to connect the wires. Below is the most comprehensive introduction.

1 Search method for power cord

The power cord of the car console is usually found in the wiring harness inside the decorative panel below the steering wheel and in the wiring harness of the central electrical box. If possible, it is directly connected to the positive pole of the battery. The DC voltage for normal operation of the vehicle platform is 10-36V. The power cord is energized when the ignition switch is in any state.

Search method: Remove the key, find the thickest wire, use a test lamp (or test pen) to ground one end, and test the other end at the connector of the wire. If the test light remains on, it indicates that the wire is the power cord.

II Search method for ACC signal line

The ACC wire is usually found in the wiring harness inside the decorative panel below the steering wheel and in the wiring harness of the central electrical box. The ACC signal line is the main basis for the host to determine whether the vehicle is in a starting state.

Search method: Find the thicker wire in the ignition switch harness, ground one end of the test light, and test the other end at the wire connector: When the ignition switch is turned to "ACC" or "ON" position, the test light will light up; After turning off the ignition switch, the test light goes out, and this wire is the ACC wire.

III The search method for turn signal lines

The turn signal wires are generally found in the wiring harness inside the decorative panel below the steering wheel, the central electrical box wiring harness, and the wiring harness inside the left and right front doors. Most models have two lines on the left and right, but there are also very few models that have four lines on the front, rear, left, and right.

Search method: Because the colors of the small lights, brake lights, and reversing lights are the same on the left and right, you can compare the colors of the left and right wiring harnesses at the front and rear combination lights, find the turn signal wires, see their colors and sizes, and then find wires of the same color and size in the car wiring harness. Use a test light to ground one end and test the other end on the same line. When turning on the left or right turn signal switch, use a test light to test this wire. If the test light turns on and off with the turn signal, this wire is the turn signal wire. The search method for the other turn signal wire is the same.

Attention: Some car models have turn signal wires (which are controlled by modules) that cannot be confirmed on the wiring harness under the turn signal switch. Therefore, they can only be found in the central electrical box wiring harness and the inner wiring harness of the left and right front doors using the same method. For models where the front and rear turn signals are controlled separately by modules, it is recommended to only connect the wires of the rear turn signals to avoid affecting the original wiring of the vehicle. This wiring method can only turn on the rear turn signal when arming or disarming.
